Will You Still Hire Me If I Use The "M" Word?

Updated: May 3, 2023

No doubt we live in a more sensitive world than ten years ago.

FACT: It doesn't really matter what we think (good or bad) about the changing of the guard, and the shift of ages we are living through, but we would all do well to take stock of what really matters, and what we are really here for.

Alas, while we ponder the dawning of a new age of peace and cooperation, we still need to make a living in today's world. Navigating the transitional business world is still challenging, but at least it rewards integrity, benevolence, community action, skills and competence. Companies, brands, corporations countries and leaders who adhere to greed, secrecy and scarcity are quickly finding themselves on the endangered species list and to me, that's very good news.

So what is possible in this new paradigm? What new ideas should we bring to the workplace? COVID, ufos, crypto, gender dynamics, cancel culture, manifestation, meditation, psychedelics. Depending on where your work, any of these highly-relevant and important topics of this new age can land you in hot water faster than you can say vaccine mandate.

Today we are going to focus on one word only. the M word. There are a lot of words we "can't" use in business for fear of offending, and this one is no different.

It wasn't that long ago that hysteria swept through villages and women were executed for their relationship to nature, plants and her medicine, so as we walk into these waters, it's important to recognize that there are still large contingents of people who have been indoctrinated into reactive and confused opinions about people who choose different relationships with their environment and creator.

Are you ready to dive in with me and consider owning more of your creative power and your intrinsic connection to the planet you walk on and the cosmos as a whole? There is power in controversy and the most dynamic leaders throughout history are always adept at walking that tight-wire, leaning in and carefully pushing boundaries.

The word on topic today is MAGIC. Do you believe in magic? Can it be discussed in the boardroom? YIKES! Or have you, like many of us.....conformed to a paradigm of muted expression and practicality over excitement, dreams and serendipity? What if you could have both? According to Gallup. It's estimated less than 40% of workers consider themselves "Highly Engaged" in their work. Seeing how we will spend most of our waking lives engaged in work, that's a tragic statistic. We are all capable of so much...magic when are fully alive and fully aligned with our purpose.

"Some might call me a dreamer, but I'm not the only one." ~ John Lennon

Thought alone is a creative active and what you focus on expands, so I humbly invite you to today's thought experiment:

What would you do if you had a magic wand and you could transform any personal situation into something better? *Hint: You don't need the wand. :)

When things seem bleak or hopeless, it is critical we take charge of our ability to control our thoughts and emotions.

You can and you should, because if you don’t, someone else definitely will.

Guard your mind as if your life depends on it, because it does.

All of the water in the world can’t sink a ship unless the water gets inside.

Never give up. Trust your unique impulse.

Temporarily tune out from mass media and those who parrot headlines pretending to be “informed, because they probably aren’t.

Be weird. Break the mold. Give yourself permission to feel joy regardless of what appears to be going on around you.

Choosing a life of joy, gratitude and abundance is by definition a radical path. Most won’t choose it in this lifetime and that’s ok.

Gratitude in this moment is the bridge between everything we want and I’m thankful for the ability to feel thankful.

You can never become sick or sad enough to help a sick or sad person become well.

Ever.

Only from your place of strength can you uplift others.

Trust your unique spark.

Those seeds if inspiration are given to you for a reason. The universe operates on efficiency, and it would not give you dreams and insights if you weren't capable of creating them. Complete the loop by developing the idea in your mind and take action!

Honor your dreams by following their path without apology and watch life support you in ways you can’t imagine.

What if magic and excellent timing were simply a part of your daily life? What if a deeper, more profound and magical sense of intuition was like a muscle that got better and more powerful the more you used it?

What if the universe was trying like crazy to give you exactly everything you want, if you would only get out of your own way?

I know, it's a little easier said than done sometimes, and that's okay too.

All is energy and thought emits vibration. You are either in harmony with your desires, or not and you can tell by how you feel, moment by moment.

Your inspiration holds the key to your fulfillment and satisfaction in this lifetime. Joy is the key and the bridge to everything worthwhile. The mind can take you so far, but it's through our feeling through our body that we tune into and magnetize our intuition toward what we really want and what will truly fulfill us.

FINALLY: Don’t take advice from anyone who has given up on their dreams, or settled for anything less than what they want in joy, health, satisfaction, wealth etc.

Whatever it is that you want, become a student of those who have created it for themselves and you will find the path unfolding in front of you. Remain teachable. Take care of your health. Give genuine praise every time you get the chance.

Look for the good in others.

Develop useful skills that align with your gifts. Practice them daily. Building the snowball takes time.

Systems, tools and rules may provide guidance, but all paths ultimately lead back to the self and the choices you make.

Don't rely on magic, but be sure to leave room for it.

Blame is toxic. Life is unlimited. The choice is always ours.
